Become a Volunteer Teacher
Cents Ability is looking for caring and energetic individuals who want to make a difference in underserved communities. Volunteering is easy, fun, and flexible enough for even the busiest schedules. There is no minimum commitment to volunteer, just attend one of our teacher training courses, then select the opportunities that fit your schedule.
Volunteer Teacher
As a financial literacy organization, volunteer teachers are the heart and soul of Cents Ability and play an integral role in communicating our valuable message to high school students. All teachers complete a 1-hour training session, and first-time teachers can be paired up with veteran teachers. Since programs are held year-round and at various times and locations, volunteering is flexible enough for even the busiest professional. Volunteers are encouraged to teach an entire workshop (4-8 weeks), but it is not required.
Corporate Volunteer
A Cents Ability Corporate Volunteer Partner is a group of Cents Ability volunteers who have formed a satellite organization where members are affiliated within a corporate institution or geographic region. Each Franchise is tasked with carrying out the mission of Cents Ability and offering a similar experience for its volunteers and students as they would receive through the parent Cents Ability organization. The corporate partnerships allow our members to operate more independently. They can carry out many functions such as sponsoring their own events, organizing volunteers, creating teaching opportunities, all while working towards achieving the goal of educating high school students in financial literacy.
College Chapters
Our relationship with college students, fostered by our College Chapters contributes a youthful and insightful dynamic to our classes. Our college chapters serve as an extension of our parent organization and play a critical role in our program delivery. The collegiate chapters allow our members to operate more independently. They can carry out many functions such as sponsoring their own events, organizing volunteers and creating teaching opportunities, all while working towards achieving the goal of educating high school students in financial literacy.
